Section Breaks |
|||||||
| Overview |
Section breaks work like page breaks, but they're used to isolate sections in a document. One of the most common uses of section breaks, and one that occurs in almost every document, is the separation of your title page and your table of contents from the main body of your document. Section breaks also enable you to insert a landscape section in the middle of a document without affecting the page orientation of sections on either side of it. Finally, section breaks enable you to have different headers and footers, or different watermarks, in different sections of a document. We'll discuss headers and footers a little later. Watermarks are discussed in Part 2 of this training. |

| Keep an Eye on Sections |
The left hand side of the status bar at the bottom of your screen shows you which page and section are displayed on your screen. The example below shows you are on page ten in section three. Keep an eye on this when you are working with sections. |

| Quick Tip | It is best to keep the number of sections in a document to a bare minimum. Having unnecessary sections makes formatting footers more difficult. Delete any unnecessary section breaks to make your life easier and save you time. | |||||||
