A little earlier we learned how to create a landscape section in the middle of a document. When you create a landscape section, its footer will remain in the same layout as the portrait section preceding it. To format a landscape footer correctly, you will need to move the centre and right tabs in the footer to reflect the new landscape page orientation.

Note: The following procedure assumes you have a portrait section before and after your new landscape section.

To reformat a footer in a landscape section:

1. Double click on the footer in the landscape section. (The footer will open).
2. On the Header and Footer toolbar, click the Same as Previous button . (This will unlink the footer from the footer in the previous section).
3. Click on the Show Next button to move to the footer in the following portrait section.
4. Click the Same as Previous button to unlink the footer from that in the landscape section.
5. Click the Show Previous button to return to footer in the landscape section.
6. Click, hold and drag the tabs in the ruler to reflect the landscape format.
7. Click the Close button to close the Header and Footer toolbar.
