About Mahi Ora
Mahi Ora is a free,
life-skills programme delivered by Te Wananga o Aotearoa. The programme
invites students
to take a fresh look at their lives, including their jobs, their health,
finances, relationships and educational choices.
The programme is
delivered over a 12-month period in the form of six kete (packs) of
learning materials that help students make choices about their lives.
Each student
is assigned a Kaitiaki (Coach) who supports the student during his or
her learning. Kaitiaki also deliver programme assessments.
The programme has
been running since 2001 and has been hugely successful, having now enrolled
over 80,000 students.
